After two cracking games in the past two nights between all the semi finalists of the Champions League, I am questioning a few of the rules which Uefa have in place this year. Now as many of my readers are football fans themselves they shall know that both Chelsea and Bayern Munich are going to be playing against eachother to be declared champions of Europe. However, many of both teams regulars shall not be featuring for their respective clubs due to them picking up the odd yellow card here and there.
A total of six players shall unfortunately be missing the Champions League final, possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity, due to this rather petty yellow card ruling. Three of Chelsea's heroic squad that beat Barcelona fair and square over two legs shall be missing the final. These are Ivanovic, Meireles and Ramires. The same amount of players shall be missing for Bayern Munich; Gustavo, Alaba & Badstuber.
The way I look at it is that yellow cards in the second leg of the semi finals should not be counted towards a ban from the final as many of these yellow card are unjust, petty and often the wrong decision from the referee. Red cards should however mean an instant ban for the player from the Champions League final and so John Terry is correctly not playing in the final. Why should a player miss one of the biggest matches in his life due to the referee often giving out silly yellow cards that are the wrong decision?
The yellow card rule should also e stopped for the good of the game. The Champions League final shall be watched by millions across the world and one of the biggest games in football should be played out by the two best teams as well as the best players. Imagine turning the television on and watching say Man Utd against Barcelona in the final only to find out Rooney, Messi, Puyol & Nani are not playing as they received yellow cards in the semi finals for an accidental handball etc. It wouldn't be good for the game at all.
Hopefully, Uefa shall see sense and make the best judgement to get rid of the yellow card rule not just for this year but for future competitions as well. I want to see all six players named above playing in that final as they have all deserved their rightful place.

Welcome To The Real Life
Been a long time since i updated this blog and the main reason is simply because i have not had the time. Finishing college led me into a 16 hour part time job that has immediately risen to over 40 hours per week and more or less full time. Its great to be earning a decent amount of money as ultimately, this is one of the most important things in life itself. To be earning, to be successful and be able to stand on your own two feet and not rely on family/friends all of the time needs some sort of money input. The only thing i have started to miss is time off to do things that i would like to do.
Shopping, socializing and relaxing are all off the agenda and have been for some time now. Now i know you shall all be saying 'Well just do those things after work' but this is pretty hard especially when the majority of the time i am finishing at 8pm after a 10-12 hour shift. I have come to a conclusion that i am now in real life and have entered the real world where work is a major priority that always seems to come first before anything else. The odd day off i get very now and again also doesn't help as its normally spent recovering from all the hours of hard work i have put in throughout the week.
Even when the manager passes me my wage slip and thanks me for yet another month's worth of hard work i can not enjoy it. I merely place it into my pocket and crack on with the daily jobs as i would of done on any other day of the month. I have no time to even spend the money and so, apart from paying my rent for each week, it stays in the account gaining that little bit of interest now and again which in some ways is a good thing.
A well deserved holiday in the Dominican Republic is booked for November/December ... that is if i can get the time off work!
